Drillthrough user experience

We're starting to look into incorporating drillthroughs into some of our embedded reports. We've got one report with a scatter chart that will drill through into a table representing the detailed data.

Currently, each visual is represented on two pages. On the first page, we've got some intro text, a few other visuals, etc. at the top and the scatter chart towards the bottom. On the second page, we've only got the drillthrough data chart.

So, we set up drillthrough and it's working fine. The problem - the interaction is less than ideal. When the user drills, the page "jumps" to the detailed chart and the user needs to scroll the screen. When they hit back, there's another scroll to get them back to where they were when they started. Not sure if this is a result of having our reports embedded or if this is typical under the non-embedded expereince as well.

All of this would be better if the drill through was "in context" to the scatter chart. In other words, it would be as if the user never left the page and the entire scatter chart was replaced with the detailed chart. Hitting "back" would do the opposite. No jumping between pages...

Anyway, is any of this possible right now? If not, any suggestions on how to minimize the "jumping" of the page position as the user drills down/up?

Thanks.
